“Digital art book” … let’s be real for a moment. It’s a set of pictures inside the game, which you cannot view unless you pay extra. Now when did this become normal?

@darth It’s actually not pictures from in the game, they usually things like concept, character and world art, things that predate the games rendered state.

No I would not pay extra for what is fundamentally still a PDF, but I do have a couple of physical game art books.

There is usually also details about how the character or scene was conceived and so on.

@RemeJuan with Starfield I got a “second game” which is nothing but pictures. Waste of hard drive space. Had it arrived as a paper book then it would not only be of value, but also amazing.

@solarisfire I want this trend reversed and I have already started helping by purchasing Baldur’s Gate 3 for full price on day one last year.
