The U.S. National Hot Dog and Sausage Council (aka Big Hot Dog) puts out a figure each year claiming to be the number of hot dogs an American eats annually and it's big. 70 hot dogs a year — not including bratwursts, sausages, veggie dogs, or pigs-in-blankets! Defector's Kelsey McKinney wrote this exhaustive investigation on where the heck this number comes from. To augment her research, fediverse-style, we want to know roughly how many hot dogs you personally consume a year. Story may be paywalled.
This 70 hot dogs a year total is certainly not reflective of the fediverse, where only 4 percent of voters are consuming more than 60 dogs a year (respect to that 3% who are scarfing more than 90). Suggestions as to who might be skewing the data included teenaged boys (we've definitely seen our friends' kids inhale six or seven hot dogs in a single session) and Timmy from WKUK (h/t to @Legit_Spaghetti for sharing this important absolutely factual documentary footage with us.

Do you actually inted to use the Fediverse a survey tool? The typical Fedi user does by no means reflect the general population. The relative amount of veggies and CO2 concious eaters is a lot higher, than in the general public. Also the Fediverse has a high EU population, where american style hot dogs are not as popular as in the US.
The only thing that survey will show is the hot dog consumption of global Fediverse users. And evon then it`s skewed by the bubbles its shared into.

I bet something like that heavily skews the statistics, the same way Spiders Georg skews the spider-eating statistics.
@bloodykneelers Yes, according to the article it's strictly hot dogs. If it was an aggregation of sausages in bread (mmm, sausage butties!) we would still struggle to reach anywhere close to 70 a year though!
