I guess they're standard now, but if you don't have a Santoku knife I highly recommend one! I rarely use my chef's knife anymore.

Perfect for thin slice/chops, any vegetable needs chopping and I grab the santoku instantly

I'm happy with mine for now but I'll probably upgrade some time. I got a Hampton Forge Tomodach set, very nice for the price.
