rmader, 10 months ago #ArchLinux / #danctnix now ships #Linux #megi 6.4 which has all #PinePhonePro patches for correct camera rotation and location (front/back - used for automatic mirroring in some apps and better camera naming). This is a great step for having a good camera experience out of the box - the only thing still missing is #wireplumber being installed by default (see https://github.com/dreemurrs-embedded/Pine64-Arch/issues/537) After that, one can e.g. install #gnomesnaphot or @dino from #Flathub and it should just work. #LinuxMobile

rmader, 10 months ago @craftyguy Yes, mostly - but unfortunately not fully and you still can't use the cameras on the PPP with an upstream kernel :/ Help with upstreaming patches is very welcome!

rmader, 10 months ago @1ace @craftyguy IIUC, judging from @awai s post (https://floss.social/@awai@fosstodon.org/110731576065195132) we'd need to land https://patchwork.linuxtv.org/project/linux-media/list/?series=10580&archive=both&state=* as well as https://salsa.debian.org/Mobian-team/devices/kernels/rockchip-linux/-/blob/mobian-6.3/debian/patches/camera/0056-media-i2c-imx258-Add-support-for-powerdown-gpio.patch and https://salsa.debian.org/Mobian-team/devices/kernels/rockchip-linux/-/blob/mobian-6.3/debian/patches/camera/0058-media-i2c-imx258-Add-support-for-reset-gpio.patch - and the DTS entry to at least have the back camera work by default. For the front camera I think there's still a bit more in Megis tree (see https://github.com/megous/linux/tree/ppp-drivers-6.4)
