@perkinsy Australia seems very timid about trying new architecture that's better suited to our climate. Mud brick and earth bag construction have been known about for ages, and considering the insulation properties and low cost of materials, you'd think they would've taken off. They're also cyclone proof.

@anne_twain I think that Australia is also very poor at looking at best practices from the non-English speaking world. Finland does great stuff with education that Australia could lrarn from. And while it could hardly be called non-English speaking, Australian cities could really learn a lot from Singapore about how to do high density living while making it pleasant for everyone with a great transport system and lots of greenery.

Re Burkina Faso, how many less developed countries are doing innovative things that developed countries can learn from?
