#Readwise's Reader just released a new version on #Android and #iOS with paged scrolling. Meaning, it's no longer just endless scrolling, but you can use the physical buttons and/or tap to scroll page by page.
This is especially useful for #eInk devices, such as my #BOOX Leaf 2! Don't forget to enable reduced animations for an even better experience!
@voxpelli My #Boox Leaf 2 isn't the fastes thing, so it takes a bit patience when using the app, but generally it works quite well indeed!
Additionally, they're still optimizing the app with partial focus on making it better on eInk devices, which is underlined by at least two employees at #Readwise actively using Boox devices themselves. So it doesn't seem like just an afterthought. #dogfooding
@darkcisum The one thing I have been pondering is whether I should get a Boox Page instead (same size as yours) or a Palma instead of the Poke 5 as the Poke 5 seems to have similar performance as yours but the Page and especially the Palma both seems to be faster.
I kind of want the fork factor of the Poke 5 though
@voxpelli I personally wouldn't go for the Palma as the form factor doesn't seem that great. I guess it's easier to carry around (swap your phone for the Palma), but then I could also just use my phone instead.
More horizontal space seems crucial to me for a better reading experience. But YMMV.
@darkcisum Yeah, I would go with the Page in an instant if it didn’t have that needless right sidebar 😅 I guess I’ll pick up a Poke 5 and get a feel for how it is
