@chikorita157 Sadly, it's still a thing... Every (legal) streaming service does it, at least for the content they don't own themselves. :Kaga_facepalm:
@yon I don’t think there was ever a Japanese version. I checked the international version, and it only has options for English, Spanish, Italian, and German.
It’s perplexing since there were After Dark screensavers made in Japan. Probably using the non-installer version where you drag the After Dark files into the Control Panels folder.
@chikorita157 I believe the Japanese version was sold by a different company so it’s a Japanese only version. But that’s what I’m trying to remember from conversations. Not actually used it myself.
I think this is the same Japanese company that eventually made the Mac OS X version. I don’t think Macintosh Garden or Macintosh Repository has the Japanese version, although they do have some Japanese After Dark screensavers.
