As usual, the "conservative" side of politics is not being particularly fiscally conservative by wasting city resources on unnecessary signs... but at least this passed without significant resistance.

I can't speak as a resident, but Toronto was a big-time sleeper when I visited. Majorly surpassed my expectations.

saltcircuit, in Toronto to Explore Amendment of Canadian Constitution that would recognize and enshrine certain City of Toronto Authorities

As much as I can understand the desire here, this is a waste of time/resources. Municipalities are creatures and constructs of the province legally speaking. Quite well defined too.

Well defined, but not immutable. The city is investigating changing that definition at the constitutional level... which is the right way to change it, but not an easy process (and potentially so difficult that it is reasonably to consider it a waste of time).

Personally I've always been a fan of the Province of Toronto idea, but generally anything that moves power to govern Toronto to Toronto seems like the right direction to me.

Would love to see a Province of Toronto, but if Charter Toronto is a better possibility, I'll take it! Anything to keep us from continuing to be a "creature of the province" that seems to hate us.
