Everything. No, really. I have a curious mind and I am interested in EVERYTHING.
I do have some main hobbies, tangential hobbies, and once a decade hobbies, etc. I rotate them because I get bored.
I grow boutique #Cannabis . My shit kept the EIC of High Times magazine high for HOURS. ;)
I #remodel my houses. First was my 2300 ft. sq. Place where we lived in Austin for 20 years, the second is my cabin at 7800' elevation on top of a mountain in New Mexico.
I'm a #mother. I have one kiddo, 17, engineering college bound. One dog, 2 cats, and a husband. #Married 26 years. To the same dude. I only speak to my kid brother as the rest of my family decided the insurrection wasn't a deal breaker.
I am the oldest of 4, and have 3 younger brothers. I grew up in Lubbock, TX, literally in the middle of a cotton field. Rattlesnakes and tarantulas were our toys (not joking).
@JenWojcik Yep! US cotton is still massive, especially since the ban of Xinjiang cotton in China. I’m still in the industry and manage a big part of our cotton sourcing strategy.
Tell you what though, drove through that area just a few weeks ago, and the crops aren't looking good. Even for 2nd planting. I know what good cotton looks like, and that ain't it. The soil is played out and it's sad.
@JenWojcik Don’t know how well the region is doing compared to US cotton overall, but yeah, cotton is aggressive to soil, gotta rotate with other crops, gotta practice regenerative farming, etc. US is pretty good about it, but I’m sure many farms don’t.
