Agreed. Honestly, when Collision started and Punk ripped on the Bucks (called their fans whiners, etc.) I figured things were probably smoothed over. I can't imagine a world where TK lets Punk go out there and say that if they aren't okay.

Seemed like Bill/Cage got most of the offense too. It'll be interesting to see where they go from here though...maybe ROH belts? I can't see them going back to singles full-time with how well their working together.

Yeah no idea. They’ve for sure kept Big Bill separate from the Mogul Embassy and even teased some Cage dissention in the Royal Rampage. They planted seeds for a few different ways.

Great show, AEW is really firing on all cylinders at the moment.

Well, maybe all but one. I continue to be absolutely fucking baffled by Punk.

In kayfabe, why is Dasha announcing an unrecognised title? Why are there graphics for it, even with quote marks? Why did Stephon Smith hold the belt up? Why “and still…”? Sure, Nigel loves a chancer but why aren’t Ricciboni and JR pointing out how Punk got stripped of the title? In fact, why is JR saying he’s a Punk guy when Punk is claiming to be a champ when he isn’t? Why did Starks even go for the cover after the ref was knocked down? Did he really think Steamboat was going to count a clearly dodgy pin?

Outside of kayfabe, why even have the ref bump if you’re going to end on a clean (if slow and convoluted) roll up? Why is Starks, whose entire recent run and popularity is as a face, smacking the shit out of Steamboat after a clean pin? Why is Punk, who is pretending to be a champ, being presented as a face when Christian, who is doing the same thing, clearly isn’t?

Surely the best ending was for Starks to win, via fuckery Steamboat misses, and Punk to still claim he’s the “real” champ?
