@hyde Personally I would say let the old TV go and don't buy Sony. Sony to me has not made quality products in decades. Sony is amazing at manufacturing, but that's where it ends. Saying this I do feel for you on the frustration. We need TVs that are built for repair instead of waste.

@adamsdesk yeah exactly. It's a pain ! They should provide products you can repair for cheap.

And, indeed, Sony isn't at the level of quality it used to be.

I won't never recommend, or buy, their products again

@hyde @adamsdesk I’ve known someone whose spent time repairing the main circuit and other part on their TV. Some of it was doable but also not meant for repairs either.

When they finally spent enough time and money on repair parts, a salesman told them to not use Sony either.
