docpop, This 84-year-old graffiti on Valencia Street just made some new friends. The old tag, which says "J.O. 1939" was recently uncovered when a garage was torn down to make room for new housing. More info about the tag and the Mission Chevrolet ghost sign is on my blog: https://docpop.org/2023/12/new-ghost-sign-uncovered-at-valencia-st-and-cesar-chavez/ #SFGraffiti #ValenciaStreet #SanFrancisco
Another photo from a different angle. You can see the Mission Chevrolet sign that was recently uncovered, but you can also see fresh graffiti tags from Chachi, Drip, and more. The tags are below the 80 year old hand painted sign, and don't cover it, however there is a beautiful brick building in the background that was also recently exposed when another building was torn down. This brick building has been covered in tags.
A wide angle view of the Mission Chevrolet sign, and all the tags. There is lots of scaffolding, fencing, and construction on the site too because it is where an old garage was just torn down to make room for housing. It is a wet day, which ads a moody atmosphere to the shot.
