I'm going to roll with a "no dumb questions" policy as big a mistake as that may be on the open internet.

I have a DJI Mini 4 Pro. Is there some way to mark the start/end of a shot? Like a clap board sort of but for drones, in the sky?

I'd like to automate my video processing and so far most of that is just cutting out transit and setup time for the shot I want. Some way to mark the start and end of a shot that can be identified automatically would be incredible!

aeronaute,

@Tekchip May not be exactly what you want, but if you fly your shooting via waypoint missions, you can turn the camera on or off at any waypoint. So, with a bit of pre-flight setup, the drone would just turn off the camera when repositioning for another shot.

@aeronaute ah, that's a great idea. I have been working on better planning and prep so waypoints would work provided it's not a situation that involves tight manual control.

I'd also do well to just get better at remembering to hit record. I forgot the first several flights out so I got in the habit of just recording basically entire flights and cutting out what I want. Probably not the ideal way to go about that. I should just get gud at starting recording when it matters.
