@dinozombie for real. I'm psyched for this, I love isometric stuff, wasn't into Hades but love roguelikes and this has an almost Diablo feel too it too, which is never a bad thing haha
@jake4480 oh man you're the first person I know who didn't just adore Hades lol it's actually refreshing
I haven't played it yet but everything I hear about it is just praise after praise. I even have it sitting in my steam library atm but am afraid to play it now cause it can't possibly live to the expectations 😂
@dinozombie ha! I know. I'm not great at games, but yeah, bounced hard off Hades. First of all, don't care for the myth/god theme crap. Meh. The tutorial was long, complicated, just throw me IN. Too many cutscenes, too much story, this is the kind of shit modern gamers put up with I guess. Do they LIKE it, I dunno. But it's the way of the industry. I'd rather play free shit like Alien Shooter (and I have been for days, on my phone). Tiny tutorial, throw me in, let me run and shoot and fight. I never care about story. I wanna PLAY a game, not watch a damn movie 🤣
there was a time where games with deep complex lore were preferable to me since they were few and far between
it also used to be that studios focused on the gameplay FIRST and tried to make it fun, and the story/lore/world/characters/etc grew organically with each game
but now EVERY game has to have this deep nuanced setting and characters with huge backstories that I just can't be bothered to get into
@dinozombie THIS. And no one is talking about it. My wife has been playing the new Princess Peach game and although it looks cool and a level or two are cool - GETTING there, there's SO MUCH unskippable stuff. You put unskippable crap in your game, I'm out. I'll just quit. haha
@heyfluxay ha! Same on the TMNT, the kid and I played some Shredder's Revenge the other day.. I had tried it out when it first came out. Pretty cool. But yeah, I'm a TMNT nut too since the 80s and my first Raphael figure haha. The show, just all of it.
Hades- the mechanics were okay and the world- it was all the story and the way they FORCE you into stuff, I would've liked the mechanics maybe with another game theme and 0 story. Just throw me in and let me do stuff. I've been playing this game Alien Shooter and it's like that, and I love it haha
@jake4480 played thru Shredder's Revenge with friends which was awesome, been meaning to show it to my son, but we haven't gotten to that yet. He's played one of the arcade games recently so he should love it.
