I've been out of whack lately. Too many medical tests, including that of mental health (and no, not that kind 🤣). This getting old business is not working out for me, it forced me to retire earlier than expected. Otherwise, I'm still on the right side of the earth.
@walterdunham I've had issues too. My wife was very concerned, she was seeing me Freeze up go blank, or forget unbelievable things. Like my neighbour I talk to daily, I'd come in and say, I was just talking to... talking to.. what's the neighbour's name on that side? And worse. She mentioned it more than once, but I forgot LOL
So, we setup an appt with my doctor, I came into where all Nova Scotia Healthcare is. THE CITY, and lost a day of work in the country, to be tested. I passed.
@walterdunham everyone knows I have ADHD, and it's worse in the morning, but that's when I am hyper focused and pay bills, do taxes, budgets and solve for peace in the middle east.
By afternoon, I can't remember which store i was driving to, so I come home and wait until next morning. I think a fly went past me in the doctor's office during the test. The doctor wrote that down until it was over, and then said, you're memory is fine (Yeah right) it's just your ADHD acting up, I saw the fly too😂
@walterdunham And they asked more questions, I said, I play heardle every morning, and post my results for my friends who play.
She asked how I did on that? I said, in the morning, if I have ever heard a song before in my life, I recognize that I heard it. I can't say I can guess the name or artist, but usually do. By afternoon, I have to give up, I get frustrated that music I've grown up with, I can't spit the answer out. My wife gets up 4 hours after me, no distractions.
@walterdunham Couple of days ago, she got up when I did (for some unknown reason, and completely messed me up. I didn't play.
But, my wife is disabled and walks with a cane. Which is good, because doctors didn't think she would walk again, she was bedridden a year. Now, it's me. Hips, back, and balance. I practise balance, and I do painful stretches to get started so I can walk in the morning. But without focus, I fell down and scared my wife. I fall putting a sock on in the dark.

Speaking of falling down ... i was drinking coffee and me being me, it went down the wrong pipe! I started coughing and the next thing I knew my brother was holding me down on the floor. He said I was out for more than a minute, and my wife was frantic. Funny thing, no one thought of valling the ambulance 😫
@walterdunham Oh my. I've had two blackouts not related to choking. I've broken bones and kept working in pain. But, dental pain even mildly is torture to me. And some pain, I reach my threshold. I had glass or metal in my foot. i asked m wife to try to take it out with tweezers. didn't hurt, I didn't even pull my foot back, it was nothing, until my wife screamed when my head fell to my chest. I just blacked out? I have several tattoos, not a full comic book yet, but like a modest sailor LOL
@walterdunham My Navy buddy was a tattoo artist. One day on ship, in a blinding snowstorm, they closed the bases early and sent us home. He had no ride, and buses didn't go that far. I said, i'll take you, but it was 20 kms past my house, he didn't want me to get into trouble on the highway taking him home. I had good tires. When I got him home, he said, you mentioned you wanted to cover a tattoo over once? which one? I had PEACE like a magic marker all crooked on my arm like a prison tattoo
@walterdunham Being in the navy, PEACE wasn't something military are good at, and it looked ugly and had moved up my arm as I grew up. I was 12 when I got it (Mom flipped, my father was going to rip me a new one), he said, you can have any of these tattoos (he was a Biker tattooist too) but none of these; and we picked dark blue rose dark enough to cover that old black India Ink. I had 3 tattoos already, never blacked out on the biggest most painful, he got out the gear, and suddenly he said
@walterdunham You OK? What? He said, no shame buddy but you were out cold for a second! Surprised me, really?, he said, I've had big bikers piss themselves during tattoos. everyone has a different pain threshold. I guess I reached mine. Only time it happened.

I got me an itsy-bitsy one on my right forearm hiiden by my shirt sleeve. It's a big dipper wuth the north star, some kind of family crest my kids came up with.
We are seven in the family, 7 stars in the big dipper, which as you know point to the north star. So ... as long as you don't lose sight of and forget home, you'll never get lost in life 🥰
@walterdunham Interesting. It's only since I retired, that I started watching the sky regularly. All those years at sea, I missed a lot of amazing night skies. Mostly because it's dangerous in the dark on upper decks. @walterdunham They were dressed in black, right in front of the camera. That's why the mouse is always in front of a black curtain. That's how you can tell a woman's age is over 40. If she knows who that is, she's over 40 LOL, it has even been in a rerun in over 40 years 😂
@walterdunham As a young sailor, I spotted a rather vulgar tattoo I am glad I didn't get, or I'd never have been able to roll my sleeves up again, in uniform or anywhere. It was a devil with a tongue like Gene Simmons, straddled by a naked lady 😉 Seemed cool at 17, less so at 29.
