@glynmoody What an absolutely bizarre tactic. Surely getting everyone paid off and getting this story out of the news well before the election would have been better for the Tories?
(The amount of money involved was trivial. If the Tories found themselves short of a few tens of billions they could always ask for some of our cash that was spirited away to cronies and donors to come back, at least temporarily.)
