Common breakfast choices in india that are unhealthy
Good breakfast keeps us full throughout the day and helps avoid overeating, some popular breakfast items to avoid:
Bread (most brown and multigrain breads have maida)- heavily processed, europe’s bread is far better in quality than india’s (but the best is indian flatbread or roti 😉)
Kelloggs muesli- maida, sugar, processed and artificial flavoring chemicals, has very less fibre content.
Ready to eat meals like poha, upma, etc by MTR- low fibre content because of ultra refined grains, has palm oil, maida
Nutella- mostly plain sugar (more than dairy milk) and added flavors, only 13% hazelnuts, similar situation for most jams in the market.
Fried food like bhature, poori and kachori- deep fried, made with maida, slows metabolism
*potatoes when deep fried to make french fries, calories shoot up 4x, bad fats increase by 20x.
