Disney expressed opposition to #Florida’s so-called “Don’t Say Gay” law. This law, officially known as House Bill 1557, bans classroom lessons on sexual orientation and gender identity in early grades.
In response to Disney’s opposition, pro-fascist DeSantis & allies took control of Walt Disney World’s governing district, the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District. This led to a legal battle that lasted for two years.
#Disney accused weak, pathetic DeSantis of retaliating against it by specifically targeting Disney World’s future development. Disney sued DeSantis and his appointees, claiming the company’s free speech rights were violated for speaking out against the legislation. However, a federal judge dismissed that lawsuit in January.
The legal battle ended when a settlement was reached on Wednesday, March 27. The settlement agreement was approved by the members of the board of the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District, ending almost two years of litigation.
