Excluding the UK, they refuse to speak other languages and will tell you proudly that they can’t speak another language. They won’t even attempt to say they speak it well.
Southern Europeans don’t need to speak English, us English speakers speak Spanish and everyone knows that all southern Europeans speak Spanish, except the French. Even then, they probably do but they refuse to.
