I think it’s far more likely to be an attack.

Yeah, there are numerous reasons told people would come from the same IP. And then once they realize that you’re doing that they’ll just spoof their IPs.

Jesus, China is calling us out for ethical concerns?

Deploying Wazuh, it’s so freaking great.

Heroes suffered from lostism. It was a great show until they completely explained it. We love making wild guesses and hate it when the truth is less exciting than what we were thinking it might be.

I can’t truly spoil it, they treated the whole series like a fever dream. We spent the whole think collecting hints and details while they barely stayed consistent within their own canon.

There was this one scene fairly early on I think in the second season They had to leave this control center room and as the blast shields were coming down to permanently seal the room there was a giant black light drawing of the island and all kinds of glorious details of relays and switches and control centers. We froze the frame and extracted it and poured over it for weeks. They really didn’t use any of it going forward.

I’m fairly certain they just made the story up as it went along trying to throw curve balls to anyone that would guess what was going to happen.

By the time it was done there was time travel, immortal beings and the afterlife all kind of just crammed together to make sure that no one could have seen exactly what was coming.

I had a set of nightmares last night thematically related. I woke up six times inside of 3 hours and each one of the dreams felt like it was an hour easy. It was a very very long night.

Court blocks $1 billion copyright ruling that punished ISP for its users’ piracy (arstechnica.com)

One thing that leaps out at me about this ruling is that courts understand the internet a lot better nowadays. A decade or so ago Sony would have probably gotten away with the argument that Cox profited from the users’ piracy; nowadays judges themselves use the internet and are going to go “lolno, they probably would have...

tech the law. You need rights. I’m not sure we can right-out the system, we probably need both.

Private trackers just lessen the surface area. When the companies decide to lobby enough to change the laws you’ll need to hide with private as well.

Very true but in the end it’s all just marketing religion to the poor. Look at those sinners over there eating fantastic meals and living in lavish estates. If you get a little extra money instead of living in nicer houses or eating better food, you should really be donating that.

linearchaos,
@linearchaos@lemmy.world avatar

“what Christianity says”

That’s kind of the problem right there. Religion has always been a way to garner money and power along with a smattering of explaining the unexplained. It’s a collection of fairytales with a little spice of real history designed to keep it’s people feeling indebted, donating and coming back. Any thing that requires blind faith should lead you to be extremely suspect about “their message”.

The stories, the psalms, the mass singing, the praise of the long absent mystical deity, it’s all psychological conditioning. The preacher running the guilt trips interspersed with good morale messages, none of this is making any of those people better people.

Christianity did not catch on because it was popular with the poor, it caught on because the people running it are masters of psychological manipulation. The poor don’t stand up Christianity, the congregations aren’t made up of paupers.

Throw 'em into boot, they either get ground down to follow orders or beat/shamed out. They’re terribly good at psychological manipulation.

As far as intelligence, they know how to play the room now. They’ll put you wherever you’re best. They have a hell of a lot of tech now and aren’t as keen on putting contractors in harms way. If you’re better off as a grunt, you’re a grunt. If you’re skilled labor, they’ll find a way to make you useful.

Not to say you should or shouldn’t join. Skilled labor makes a hell of a lot more money other places.

Just a little coordinated unemployment that bumps up bottom lines, nothing to see here. IF someone will just give them a tax break or two, I’m sure they’ll sort out hiring a few more pawns. It’s not like they’re going to try to run us into a recession or anything. It’ll be another post Covid fiasco when they go to rehire post election, I CAN’T FIND TALENTED WORKERS NOW, WHY DOESN’T ANYONE WANT TO WORK

Your ISP is logging you. And everybody’s just sitting around waiting for the day that the feds decide to do something about piracy beyond icing a few domains there’s a difference between them knowing what you’re doing, and then being the handle the hand over exactly what you’re doing.

Sounds like you’re trying to convince yourself pal

No, I really do honestly. He needs to be out, gone, out of the media’s eye. He’ll just bleed some more off his upper middle class and his lower lower class. If he does manage to make it back in He’s going to owe a whole bunch of people a whole bunch of favors and most of what they want from him are going to qualify as human rights violations.

Win+d, I wasn’t even aware there was an icon for it. If it’s not the date, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or VPN, I’m all keys

All my keyboards have Media keys for up, down and mute. The only reason I going to the tray volume if I need to turn the volume down on a single application that doesn’t support volume up and down.

linearchaos,
@linearchaos@lemmy.world avatar

You could do a pi pico project and make yourself a little three keyboard. :)

You mean you have to remove the plastic label before you throw the bottle into a recycling bin which gets dumped into a landfill never to be seen again.

linearchaos,
@linearchaos@lemmy.world avatar

But, but, but, they’re going to eventually mine all the plastic out of the landfills because at some point will be swimming in so much energy and time that turning it back into the little bit of oil that was used to make it Will be our sacred duty as humans. Tomorrow us will definitely mine all that back out and turn it back into oil right?
