GrayBackgroundMusic,

Fighting Metroids gives you super strength, obviously, lol.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

Wait, meta is in the manufacturing business? I missed the memo. I’m in electronics mfg and I’m surprised anyone would bother. It’s a hard business. Do they make their chips or foundry them? Anyone have any insights?

Which movies have aged like fine wine? (either in their message or cinematography)

I recently saw ‘Don’t Look Now’ (1973). Good picture, a little slow perhaps by today’s standards but worthy of any movie enjoyer’s time! So this movie was shot in Venice. Venice itself being an already beautiful spot to film even today. The way we get to look in a time capsule of Venice in the 70s makes the movie that...

GrayBackgroundMusic,

The original Blade Runner(1982)

Except for sexual assault scene.

GrayBackgroundMusic, (edited )

Same. Any time I’ve discussed this movie, I always critique it that chapter 1 should have been shorter, 2 and 3 should have been longer and 4 should have been skipped entirely.

That said, the soundtrack and visuals are amazing. Watching it as a music video, like Interstella 5555, would be decent.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

And getting high. Which, tbh, chapter 4 seems like an LCD hallucination or something, which fits.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

I didn’t know about the donation part, that’s awesome!

GrayBackgroundMusic,

Too soon. It needs reviews. If you’re looking to just get started, find a smaller, cheaper printer that’s a at least 6 months old and has good reviews. Most printer companies send out review units to a bunch of youtubers, so reviews should be easy for a reputable company. Don’t get a great value special from alibaba.

It’s a different skillset than woodworking. It’s very close to manufacturing/process-engineering. (Which I am IRL.) A smaller printer has fewer quirks and any mistakes are going to waste less material. It’s also cheaper, so you don’t spend a lot of money on something if you decide you don’t like it.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

Elves and dwarves being monolithic cultures. I’d be fine the the standard stereotype if that was only one kind. There are so many kinds of humans, it’s hard to believe that there is only one kind of dwarf. Make Irish vs Scottish dwarves or something, cmon. Make dwarves Mongolian, idk.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

Magic systems so detailed and prosaic you may as well call them technology.

I’m just the opposite. I like magic systems that are basically alternative physics. Gimme some of that inherent plausibility Brandon Sanderson.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

If teleportation magic exists, why don’t people who own it teleport everywhere?

Another wizard and I absolutely wrecked our DM’s in game economy just teleporting everywhere. Wizard Instant Shipping Inc.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

Shoutout to every story that alludes to the fact that mages can run out of mana but is insanely inconsistent how and when it happens. Sometimes they spam spells for hours and sometimes it’s just “Oh no, I can’t use [spell] anymore because… Um… The plot says I can’t!”

hhahahaa, just like reload when dramatically appropriate.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

Sorry to bother you. Loved it. It’s not for everyone.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

I think the weird 2nd half throws people for a loop. It’s a freaking weird movie and not for everyone. Also, it wasn’t advertised too much, IMO.

that said, I loooooved it.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

It’s not Zelda like, but if you like factory games, Satisfactory is as close to open world as a factory game gets. You land on a planet and have to build a factory to launch things into space for corporate overlords. It’s first person, lots of climbing and building. There’s a tiny bit of combat, not the focus tho.

GrayBackgroundMusic,

Where is the salt water coming from?

Is the insulated tile flaking and making the steam condense, maybe?
