Keegen,

Thank you for all your work keeping this instance running, I’m glad to have been a part of it for 7 months now (time really flies, huh)!

Keegen,

Good thing Azuma has her feeling (somewhat) figured out, I’m afraid with how low Taira’s self esteem is there is absolutely no way he will figure out what’s going on. It’s gonna be up to her to be direct and make the first move.

Keegen,

I always found the idea of a pacifist in a game designed around war crimes and indiscriminate murder to be a little silly. Doubly so when his main appeal is his killing potential. So much for peace and love! I just pretend he stands for pacifying fist instead, it makes much more sense.

Baruuk in one of the few holdouts that still manages to salvage the Exalted Weapon system, succeeding despite all of it’s limitations. The large part that contributes to it is his amazing augment, of course. I think it’s pretty widely known but this guy is really really good. He’s got tankyness, CC and insane levels of damage in a wide area. Not much more you could want from a frame.

Keegen,

He’s insanely strong, one of the best DPS frames in the game period. And he’s likely to only get stronger with the enemy resistance changes as his 4 with it’s augment does adaptive damage. His only weakness is he is not amazing at lower level content (lower level here means below lvl 100) because you need to use his 1,2 and 3 to build meter to use his 4, and at this enemy level just using a gun or bringing a DPS frame with no build-up required is often better.

Keegen,

I love that the modding system in Warframe allows you to hyper-focus on optimizing for one specific thing like that. Corrupted Mods are still the best designed mods in Warframe, sacrificing one stat to greatly boost another is a great design, especially when you can turn a downside into an upside like with Baruuk! I just wish weapon modding was even a quarter as flexible and involved as frame modding is.

Keegen,

For once, I got nothing. This is one of my “level and shelf” frames, her kit and theme just never was interesting to me.

Keegen,

I was honestly surprised Ruri didn’t chew her out after that rant, so far the only person who clearly doesn’t care about other people have been her. Half of the reasons she doesn’t like Ruri are not even things she can control!

Keegen,

My favorite side couple has more progress!

Also, happy bald giant dessert man is back!

We saw him before in chapter 52, he changed out of his hoodie and got a different dessert this time!

Keegen,

I like how despite this clearly just being a reused scene the mankaga went out of their way to make those small changes so it’s not just a copy. I’m here for the adventures of background character Happy Bald Giant Dessert Man and his joyful journey to taste all the different desserts! I hope we see more of him in the future!

Keegen,

The small glow-up this frame got after the introduction of Overguard had huge impact on his power level, there is a reason he was the most used frame in 2023. Giving Mesmer Skin that 1sec of invulnerability made him the ultimate scaling frame. Enemy damage? Doesn’t matter. Enemy health? Doesn’t matter either, Reave through them all! He’s the ultimate lazy mode frame, just bring a good gun/melee and you can do literally any mission in the game with ease. I won’t be surprised to see him nerfed/changed but I won’t be surprised to see him remain untouched either. He’s really strong, but not oppressive to other frames. He does kind of invalidates all enemy damage, which could be a problem but we have enough game modes that require you to keep something other than yourself alive that I don’t think he’s game breakingly OP.

Keegen,

I don’t think it’s Revenant’s fault specifically, it’s just that it’s pretty much impossible to make a challenging boss without it having the ability to either ignore or disable abilities. Warframe abilities are absurdly broken, they can completely turn off enemy AI, do millions of damage per second, provide you with 99,9% damage reduction, not to mention shield gating being a thing nearly every frame has access to. Our guns are no better, there is a reason DE implemented Attenuation, horrible as it may be. For better or worse, Warframe is a power fantasy game where you are an invincible god slaughtering enemies by the thousands. The only way DE was able to somewhat introduce “difficulty” is by restricting your gear choices, first with Circuit and now with Deep Archimedea, and even then the game modes are still easy provided you get lucky with a frame/weapon choice.

Keegen,

That is true, but even the example fights you mentioned boil down to “boost gun damage, don’t die” which just favors frames like Rhino/Rev/Chroma. If you add ability nullification to the mix to try to even the odds, shield gating/rolling guard tanks replace them, like with the secret boss The Fragmented One. And if you bypass both, then Warframe choice no longer matters and the game kind of falls apart. I don’t think there is a way DE can give us a boss that allows true frame diversity while also not being a complete pushover or invalidating choice by making all frames mechanically the same by attenuating the damage/disabling abilities.

Keegen,

I thought a bit about what I would consider the “best” Warframe boss in terms of design and I think it’s Exploiter Orb. It has the most build variety possible without requiring you to bring a necessary frame/weapon and without getting trivialized by one either. It mostly boils down to doing mechanics, but the way it mixes having to shoot the boss/killing adds to prevent them from cooling it allows for both tanks, CC and kill frames to work well. It’s also balanced so it can be done solo but more slowly, or in a group for a faster kill. My only issue with it is that the mechanics are not explained nearly well enough, I would’ve been lost on my first attempt if not for reading up on it’s abilities on the wiki.

Keegen,

Khora might be the “best” loot frame but I feel like relegating her to just that is doing her a disservice. With a good statstick she absolutely tears through most content. She does suffer from the Atlas issue of being an incredibly spammy frame, bind her 1 to your mouse wheel to alleviate some palm pain (DE please give us hold-to-chain-cast on all melee-like abilities please).

Keegen,

She’s absolutely worth having around, not just for resource farming but as a general fantastic frame. Her Ensnare works on a lot of things you wouldn’t think it would, namely Acolytes and Demolishers. She makes quick work of any Disruption mission with that and her incredible damage potential. Incarnon Melee weapons only made her better, because for some unknown reason their passive buffs work on pseudo-Exalted abilities, give her an Incarnon Ceramic Dagger and she absolutely shreds anything!

Miyu finds out she was inside of a manga all along:

Miyu’s struggle is so relatable, I envy people who had their entire shit figured out even before entering highschool.

Warframe's continuity is bulging at the seams for new players

Six months ago, I complained that thanks to Saya’s Vigil being required to unlock Venus, brand new players have now met a sentient long before Natah, which strips away some of the mystery. If someone asks “What’s an eidolon anyway?” or even just pays attention to the ingame lore, the question of “what the hell were the...

Keegen,

Between all the story-relevant events that were one time only and are never accessible again and the absolute jumbled up mess of a timeline the game puts you through while progressing, it’s nearly impossible to get an actual grasp on the story of Warframe without relying on external sources. Alad V for example, plays a big role in multiple quests but unless you were here years ago to do the events that introduced you to him and explained his relevance, he’s just some random Corpus guy who show up out of nowhere, then gets himself infected and is back to normal again? Teshin shows up in multiple quests but unless you somehow ended up queuing up for Conclave (in which case I’m very sorry for you), you have no idea who this guy is and why he is so important. The game really would benefit from having brief questlines actually introducing you to the characters early, a quest that sends you to Teshin for some training, a small quest line that involves Alad V being a bad guy and you dealing with the aftermath and have Lotus or someone else explain his history briefly to you. Same for all the bosses you end up fighting, most of the Grineer bosses are complete mysteries unless you were there when their respective events happened years ago.

Keegen,

Great, good for you. But what’s your point? OP explicitly said they have a specific use case for BTRFS and just wanted to know if there are any specific issues related to gaming with it. arch-chroot being slightly different with that filesystem is not an issue for 99% of EndeavourOS users.

Keegen,

Good to know the situation with cross compatibility has improved! I just saw enough posts of people having issues with a shared Windows/Linux NTFS drive over the years to advice against that setup.
